The various meanings of Consensus:
--In politics, it's a legitimate, practical term and means 'enough agreement to move forward,' or the like. --In science, it's a herd of second-rate intellects, often invoked by journalists as those who know. --In journalism, it's propaganda and means "this is what you should think because those who know say so."
